STOP SOPA!
Help stop th Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT-IP Act (PIPA). The U.S. Congress is about to censor the Internet, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill these bills to protect our rights to free speech, privacy, and prosperity. Learn more at AmericanCensorship.org
Breezy Fields
Welcome to Breezy Fields! Breezy Fields is a modern homestead in the heart of central New York state. It was founded in 2004 and has grown to include a sizable garden, a certified tree farm, an astronomical and meteorological observatory as well as various animals like sheep and pigs from time to time. We also dabble in the fermenting arts be it pickles, kimchi, sauerkraut or beer. Come back and visit to see what is going on. Monica might be gathering mushrooms in the forest or I may be making beer out of the yarrow that grows in the fields. You never know what will happen next.
New Labyrinth at Breezy Fields
Monica created a mowed version of the Chartres Labyrinth this weekend at Breezy Fields.
She checked out the book "Exploring the Labyrinth" by Melissa Gayle West and some other books about labyrinths. The book by West tells how to do it with masking tape. But she ended up starting it slightly differently based on what he did in his back yard...see link http://northernelectric.ca/medieval/labyrinth/labyrinth.htm
Monica's Talk on Forraging
Wild Edibles and Edible Landscaping
A talk presented to the HolisticMoms.org Oneida chapter on April 18th, 2007
compiled by Monica Gandara
My recent preoccupation with utilizing and cultivating natural landscapes for food sources grew out of my interest in Permaculture. (Sources for further reading and principles of Permaculture are at the end of this paper.)
